Faction: Covenant
Department: Infantry
Rank: Minor
Name: Ramia Sraomee
Race: Elite
Age: Human equivalent of 23
Height: 7'7 ft.
Weight: 287 lbs.
Appearance: Ramia's figure is slim and graceful, but do not think she is weak because she is female. She stands a bit shorter than a male Sangheili but her musculature is quite evident in contrast to most other females. She still has the key features of a Sangheli, 4 mandibles for a mouth, appears slightly reptilian, but her posture is much straighter than a male's. Her skin tone consists of a hazy blue gray with flecks of a darker blue down her back, on the upsides of her arms and running down the outside of her legs. Then her eyes are a very dark hazel.
Ramia's armour is the usual colour that her rank dictates. But the plating is a bit lighter and shaped much like a regular set of armor, just slightly modified to compensate for her female anatomy. It's otherwise the same as any other.
Birth place: The State of Sraom, Sanghelios
Strengths:
Ramia Sraomee is a youthful and bright Sangheili. She may not be as big or strong like her brethren but she is swift and quick on her feat. Given her build and dexterity she has learned to make up for her lack of strength with wit and ability. She prefers ranged combat with snipers and carbines and other single fire weaponry that require control and precision. Not that she can't hold her own in a melee or CQC situation. She also tends to think outside the box in some cases and wouldn't be shy to try something new. In tough situations she likes subtlety and stealth and will think of a clever way to ambush her opponents and systematically take em out either one by one or or at once.
Weaknesses:
Given her age and lack of experience Ramia Sraomee still has a lot to learn. Given her stubborn and semi-impulsive nature Ramia can at times become angry and unfocused. She may be slow to anger but her temper can get pretty explosive in the right situation, and even slower to simmer down. She is headstrong and sometimes arrogant that can sometimes cloud her judgment of a situation. But given some time and experience, these flaws should either be amend or at least lessen. though she is a Sangheili, her determined nature can at times override her own sense of honor. Just because she is of an honor bound people doesn't exactly mean she will act like one all the time. Ramia can come off as a bit cold to other people.
Bio: Ramia Sraomee is a female Sangheili. As she has grown, Ramia has been laughed at, spat upon and mocked by those that thought her foolish and irrational. But has aspires to prove them wrong.
Childhood
At a young age Ramia was very curious and inquisitive. Like all children she never knew her father. She only had her mother and older brother So'dhri, along with several uncles and aunts. But relatives didn't pay all that much attention to her. As many times she would try and bother anyone for viable reasons why, everyone kept saying the same thing. That Ramia was just a silly little girl that had yet to understand her place in life. This of course did not sit well with the young sangheli, but she gave up after a while. At that time though, she was mostly content with having her mother and brother whom she was quite close to.
Despite not having much family that Ramia could spend time with, there was one brother of her mother's that she liked more than any other. Her uncle Demac was an old veteran that had seen and done much in his time as a officer in the Covenant. He was kinder to her than the rest of the
family. Demac would sit with Ramia and her brother to tell them of old stories of history and fables, he even recounted heroic battles and conflicts of his days of war. He had a way of occupying her insatiable curiosity with his tales. She learned a great deal from the old Sangheili and loved him like a grandfather.
She often dreamed what it would be like to be a warrior. To go into battle and fight for great glory and honor. Consider it another dream of a awe struck child. But she could not see that such dreams would be so easy to attain for the little Sangheili girl. So young and naive to the harsh and judging ways of the world.
Adolescence
As the years passed Ramia became more rambunctious, proud, and assertive. She did not express as much interest in her own endeavors in learning to be a lady as she was toward the military. Though she kept such things to herself, she was not stupid to let on what she felt. Whenever she had the chance Sangheili girl would spend what time she could with her brother and favored uncle when not attending her mother's lessons.
Ramia would ask her brother questions of his training. What it was like and what he'd learn. Such interests are rather uncommon among senghali females, Ramia was quite envious of her brother. While she was learning the ways of the quiet, cuties servant, her brother was training to become a soldier to which held much more honor than that of a servant.
Eventually she had finally had waited long enough and decided she would express her feelings of her aspirations to her mother. This only brought alarm and dismay to her mother. The two argued vigorously for a long time on the subject. Eventually Ramia's mother gave up trying to deter the young female. Though she disapproved greatly, mother realized it the task was near next to impossible. Now all Ramia needed was someone that could train her in the ways of honor and combat to make up for the years she had missed. Luckily she had the perfect candidate, her uncle Demac.
The answer hit Ramia so hard Demac might as well have kicked in the chest. He would not do any such thing, it was so absurd! A young girl did not belong on the field of battle. Especially not his beloved niece. Ramia didn't know how to react her mind becoming en flamed. She tried to argue her case but was quickly silenced by her Uncle's bellowing voice. Raising his voice and yelled at her how foolish such a thing was. Saying how it was not a female's duty to fight, how people would react to such a controversy. It would not only bring shame upon him, but even greater shame upon Ramia and her family.
Right there and then all self control just gave way to a sudden and unknown fit of rage. All thought was washed away as she lept at the old Sangheili in a brutal tackle sending both to the floor. The struggle did not last long for superior strength allowed Demac to pin her securely to where she was no threat. He was caught totally off guard and was shocked rather than angry. He could see his mistake in saying no to the fiery Sangheili. She was ferocious and strong willed, he could see Ramia's conviction in her fire filled eyes. When all had finally calmed Demac reluctantly agreed to Ramia's request.
But he warned her that such a path risked much. She was putting her honor as well as his on the line. To expect that no one will be so accepting of a female striving to become a soldier. Ramia took to heart those words intently. She wanted this and would do what she must to achieve it. She wanted to show she was not foolish or weak. She wanted to fight.
Current
The path did prove long and difficult just as Uncle Demac said it would be. The training was strenuous and demanding on Ramia. Like crawling through a bushel of barbs and thorns. For the last decade Ramia had been pushed to her limits and beyond, both physically and mentally. As if the training was not enough there were also many people that stood in her way. Criticizing and mocking her, trying to drag her down and saying they would put her in her place. But every single one was toppled as she plowed on through.
Her case had been taken all the way to Kaidon himself. Even there Ramia was mocked and laughed at. Amused, the Kaidon humored her and allowed her to prove herself. She did and passed her trial as well as any male would have. It was a one on one fight to the death and she fought with a slightly underhanded sense of honor as she mercilessly killed the combatant.
She moved on to the initiate's training that further molded her into the soldier she desired to be so badly. With blood and sweat and tears Ramia pushed on. In the end she made it through, fighting every step of the way. Though she was no longer the curious little Sangheli, but now becoming a cold yet efficient killer. Looking back Ramia made it far, but now came the real challenge. The battlefield loomed just on the horizon in her sight.
NPCs:
Name: So'dhri Sraomee
Class: Elite
Rank: Minor
Position: Rifleman
Weapons: Covenant carbine, plasma rifle, plasma grenades.
Appearance: So'dhri stands about 8'9 And has a rather average yet sleek musculature. He is a darker blue-gray than his sister with similar flecks of blue only down his back.
Personality: So'dhri is a dedicated and honor bound soldier. But like Ramia he gets a little too eager in the heat of battle. He is the more rational one of the two, often holding on to caution instead of scattering it to the wind. So'dhri is loyal and would be less inclined to leave a comrade to die.
Bio: So'dhri Sraomee has been more or less a role model for his younger sister. He is a rifleman whom has focused training for short to medium range battle. Like any other So'dhri has gone through all the traditions of his people and now serves in the Covenant military. He always has been protective of friends and comrades alike, especially little Ramia. He had the chance of getting assigned to a more prestigious battle group. But decided against it to stick with his sister as a scout. He has seen more battle than her and intends on keeping her alive.
RP Sample: The air was filled with dust and smoke as the city stood as it was slowly being crumbled by the ongoing battle. Fires broke billowing plumes of black smoke and glowing a furious swirl of reds and oranges. Night had fallen and the siege still raged on as the invading Covenant force pushed further into the metropolis. Every where the sounds of war rang out with screams and gunfire. Explosions flashing both in the sky on the ground as if some sort of catastrophic fireworks display. Every now and then pebbles and small chunks of rubble would fall from the sky like rain.
Not so far away from the main battle perched upon a high rooftop lay a long slender figure in a prone position. The young Sangheili soldier's gaze scanned over the battered rooftops and down the broken streets. She paused momentarily, noticing some movements out of the peripheral vision of her sniper scope. In a large nearby square where streets intersected the human vermin were beginning to mount up yet another defensive position.
She watched like a sentinel as the human ground force began to establish themselves by reinforcing the square with heavy armour and gun emplacements. She could take out several of the humans right there, but doing so would be unwise with lack of cover and man power.
"Ramia!" came a call from another Sangheili that had emerged from the shadow of a door way behind her. "The humans have begun sweeping the surrounding buildings." he informed her some concern in his tone.
"Have you planted the way point beacon?" she asked in a smooth unalarmed tone.
"Yes the beacon is in a secure location." he responded.
"Good, I only need a moment longer. The humans swarm the street below."
"Sister we still have yet to complete our task. This is only the first defensive position of many to scout." the male urged. "We must go before the humans discover our position!" the urgency becoming more apparent in his voice. He crouched down beside Ramia who was still intent on the humans below.
Ramia's finger itched as it gripped the rifle trigger. They have been sneaking the shadows for a while and still she has not gotten to spill blood. She tensed when she felt a hand grip tightly at her shoulder. She craned her neck to look back and see her brother So'dhri kneeling beside her. She turned back gazing resentfully at the humans as the deployed a defence quickly and were beginning to branch off. Sighing she moved up into a crouching stance.
"Do not be so hasty. The battle still rages and you shall have blood soon enough." So'dhri assured her. He stood up and moved to the door he appeared from before that led to the stairwell. Ramia looked looked back one more time before going to join her brother. She took point as they both descended in the building to find a secure way of slipping away unnoticed. They moved swiftly and silently through the corridors and eventually out the back into a narrow alley.
As they slipped away to their next objective, all Ramia could only think of how sweet it shall be when the time comes for real combat. It ached dully in the back of her mind as they went on like shadows.
