First off, let me just lay down a few ground rules. These rules apply to every member, young and old, so listen up.
1. Stick to the plot line that this site uses.
All information on the current plot can be easily found in the RP section. Before you even think about making a character, make sure you read up and understand where we are in the timeline. If events have not happened yet or haven't gone the way original canon says they should, adjust your character's story accordingly. If you disregard this your character will instantly be denied until you rectify the problem.
2. Keep your Roleplaying reasonable.
Regardless of if it is in your character's profile or in the mission itself, keep your roleplaying reasonable. No character, no matter how skilled and trained they are, is perfect. Characters sometimes fail missions, go mad, get wounded and even die. Keep these things in mind while roleplaying. God modeing is one thing we do not tolerate.
3. Here are some other Roleplay related rules you should remember to keep the experience as real and enjoyable as possible. No one likes a God moder...
Marines and ODSTs will not win a fight against an Elite, Hunter or Brute in one on one hand to hand combat. As has been shown in many canon instances, it takes at least a squad of highly trained ODSTs to take down a single Brute in close combat. Even Master Chief was nearly killed by a single Brute if it wasn't for him gaining the upper hand when it was distracted for a single second.
Remember, its ok to get wounded or even die. Getting wounded is all part of the experience. Do not think you can run into a pack of Brutes and have all your men come out completely unharmed unless you have a damn good reason, such as a tank.
Guns are hard to aim and use. Even for a trained soldier you will not be scoring headshots continuously one after the other. Skill on the Xbox counts for nothing here. Just like in the real world, just because you can no scope someone from 10 miles away with a headshot on CoD, it doesn't mean anything in the real world. Please make a note of this and remember it when in the RP. You will be expected to miss about 25% - 50% of the time depending on your character's training and skill. Even the best sniper in the world will miss the occasional shot or hit his target somewhere other than the head.
Remember the chain of command. If a person's character is of a higher rank than yours and tells you to do something, you better do it or at least consider it. Chain of command is important to keeping order and making sure people know what to do and when. By all means people of a higher rank have no reason to order your character to get killed but they are expected to at least give you orders which you are advised to take.
4. Basic Forum Etiquette.
* Racism or offensive posts out side of RP will not be tolerated
* All advertisement is denied unless permission is given by a moderator before hand. Please PM any moderator with your advertisement request before you make your thread.
* Put effort into your posting. We are not all Shakespeare but we can all put time and effort into our responses. It's much more enjoyable and easier to read a post which is well thought about and well written than it is to read something you knocked up in 10 seconds.
* Please wait a minimum of 24 hours before double posting. The plot must go on but if you want to continue your last post, you may by all means modify it until you reach your 60,000 character limit.
* Don't talk back to the staff. It will not end well for you.
5. Character Profiles
* Every Character must have a complete character profile.
* Every Character must be original, canon characters are not allowed.
* All profiles must have the Acceptance of a Mod before beginning to RP.
* After completing the changes requested by the reviewing mod, post "Revised" in your character thread. This is to notify a mod that your profile has been changed and is ready for reassessment.
* It is recommended that you update your Bio following every major event in your character's life, be it inside the main Rp or otherwise.
Rule 6 No extreme gore or other mature content
We accompany many forms of role players, as such we expect our older members to keep this in mind when they write thing in the forum. Please for everyone's sake, keep it clean. One is aloud mild swearing, and mild gore for the use of giving a better feel to your posts in the main mission. No sexual content will be allowed in the main mission, mild sexual jokes will be allowed. Please respect our decision to keep it clean. Thank you.
