Faction: UNSC
Rank: Petty Officer Second Class (Spartan)
Name: Joe Spartan 148 (Call-sign Wolf Eye)
Race: Human
Age: 24
Height: 7”4
Weight: Classified
Appearance: Classified (MARK IV armor)
Strengths: Trained to use most of the UNSC arsenal, trained in hand to hand combat (not as good as an elite though), capable sniper, able to fight in zero gee, level headed leader (knows that soldiers have limits)
Weaknesses: Is affected by the marine's looks, cares deeply about comrades empathizing greatly on any losses, hates not being able to show emotions (sometimes affecting his ability to lead), has developed a sense of honor similar to Elites (but not exactly like)
Bio: Joe is your typical spartan, get the job done and don't ask why. He only remembers living on earth when he was a child before being kidnapped and put into the Spartan II program. Joe does, however, remember the excruciating pain caused by the Spartan II program.
During the selection he was almost looked over for being a tad smaller then the other candidates. But Dr. Halsey saw something in him, a capable soldier for the UNSC to utilize. He survived the selection and was put into the training the spartans under went. There he learned historic battles and tactics from the spartans' AI teacher Deja, learned to engage in battle from CPO Mendez and learned to be a leader from watching Spartan 117 John take lead of the spartans. He also was trained for zero gee combat and how to use and contain an AI in enemy territory. As such Joe has proved to be a well rounded soldier and extremely reliable comrade. He earned his call-sign when he had taken sniper position alone as the rest of the spartans had dealt with a group of insurrectionists. He had provided cover for the spartans long enough for them to complete the mission and get out alive. He also managed to take out 23 insurrectionists while providing cover. This won him the call-sign "Wolf Eye"
He follows orders and sees ODSTs and Marines as equals to himself, even if they don't view him the same. Joe hates the war and also hates the looks that he receives from other soldiers. The staring, gawking, and shock that they show through their expressions always made Joe feel different. All he wanted was to be treated equally and for the war to be over.

Joe layed perfectly still as the covenant squad moved past him. He had position himself between a large bush and a tree, utilizing the shadow and colour to his advantage. The squad had been on patrol searching for any signs of human life, not knowing that Joe was the only human among them. High command had ordered him to locate a downed pelican with potential supplies while the other soldiers maintained defenses at the base.
The squad finally passed him and he sprung into action, he leaped from his hiding place and dove through the brush. It took him several second to reach his max sprinting speed. The coordinates of the pelican's last known position said it was over a deep valley. Joe had climbed down the valley cliff face about three hours ago and had been slowly avoiding covenant patrols since. No need to start fight that is unnecessary, Deja once told him. Joe skidded to a halt as his motion tracker picked up on a target, the FoF labeled the target as a foe. Joe peeked through the brush and spotted three jackles on patrol. They casually moved along until one of them stopped in it's tracks. It sniffed the air before looking in Joe's direction.
The others followed the lead as they slowly proceeded on Joe's position. They waved their plasma pistols in the air and clicked on their energy shield gauntlets. Joe suddenly knew that now wasn't the time for sneak tactics. Joe grabbed his battle rifle and dashed towards the jackles with his weapon pointed at them. He fired a three round burst at the furthest one and it clutched it's chest as the bullets penetrated it. The first one had been startled by these turn of events and left itself open. Joe brought his rifle up and smashed it into the jackle's skull. The last one shielded itself and fired at Joe with it's plasma pistol. The plasma impacted against Joe's shields as he ran for cover in the brush. The jackle chased after him firing it's pistol continuously at Joe. The jackle's pistol overheated giving Joe the advantage, he turned and fired at the jackle who had brought up it's shield to protect itself. Joe fired his remaining clip into the jackle as it's shield turned a dark crimson before fading. A lucky round penetrated into the jackle's shoulder causing the creature to screech in pain. Joe quickly reloaded and fired another three round burst into the creature, finishing it off.
Joe sighed as he continued on his way to the coordinates, after much hiding, sneaking, and quick combat, the Spartan had come across the crashed pelican. The left wing had been severely melted and the rest was covered with melted portions, a plasma bolt from a covenant banshee patrol had caused the damage. Joe saw that there were several marines surrounding the pelican, armed with assault rifles and pistols. One marine manned the pelican's back turret, spent shells covered the ground. Joe then saw the dead covenant soldiers around him, they had come to inspect the crash but met a hail of bullets. Joe radioed the marines.
"Delta company, this is Spartan 148. I am currently on your 8, respond over", Joe said.
The marines turned towards his direction and looked for him in the brush. One marine answered him through the com.
"A spartan?! Boy, are we glad to hear from you, but I don't see any-", the marine explained as Joe emerged from the cover.
The marines looked in awe as Joe proceeded towards them, then again not every day you see a 7 foot tall, armour clad soldier. None the less, Joe hated those stares, it felt like they were piercing him with those looks. Joe pushed the unpleasant feeling to the back of his mind, these men needed to get out of here ASAP! That's all that matters right now. Joe walked up to the marine he spoke to on the com.
"So who is in charge here, are there any wounded with you?" Joe asked.
The marine stared blankly at Joe before answering him, "Uh, come again sir."
Joe had to remember that these guys had just suffered a crash and fought off covenant forces. They were experiencing shock and he had to be patient. He took a deep breathe and asked him once more.
"Who's in charge and where are your wounded", Joe asked again.
The marine came to his senses long enough to snap off a salute, "Sergeant Roy Mculland of Charlie company! I am the highest ranking officer here sir, also we have a total of five wounded. Two of them can move and are still fighting the other three aren't in such good shape, especially the pilot sir.", the sergeant informed him.
Joe saw the two soldiers that were still fighting. One had a bandage around his head but had a solid stare, he was shaking off the last moments of trauma. The other had a limp, but he was still able to move around. The remaining three weren't so lucky, one had a dark red bandage over his right eye. The other one holding his arm at an odd angle, broken from the crash. The pilot had the worst injury, he had a 5 inch piece of debris stuck in his abdomen and he was coughing up blood. Joe wasn't a medical expert but he knew the pilot wouldn't last much longer.
"Um sir, how do you plan to get us out of here?" the sergeant asked.
"Simple soldier, there is an LZ that we have to travel to. About five miles from our current position.", Joe answered.
"Alright, grab any ammo, grenades and weapons we're moving out. I'll take point, sergeant you get our six. The wounded get put in the middle, everyone else in tight formation.", Joe ordered as he proceeded to the wounded.
"Don't worry, we're getting you out of here", Joe assured them.
Joe took the lead as the group moved through the forest to get to the LZ. They slowly moved along to avoid attracting attention from the covenant patrols. Suddenly a roar was heard as an elite scouting party discovered them. Joe turned to see four elites aim their weapons at them. The plasma fired out raced towards them forcing Joe to take cover. The marines did the same except for the wounded marine with the limp, he was taken by the plasma and screamed in pain as the plasma burned him. Joe took aim at the elites and fired his rifle at them. the bullets bounced off the lead elite's shields.
"Suppressive fire", Joe yelled as he went to reload his weapon.
Suddenly the marines emerged from cover and fired simultaneously on the elites. The first one's shields gave out and it became a twisted corpse as bullets penetrated it. The other three took cover as their shields started to take damage. Joe primed a grenade and threw it at the elites' cover, they leaped away as the grenade exploded. Two got away in time but the third had shrapnel pierce his lower body. It screamed as it fell, reaching for it's weapon. Joe quickly finished the elite and focused on the remaining two. They were exchanging fire with the marines, who were pinned down. Joe quickly fired his clip off into the elites breaking one of their shields and deforming it's shoulder. The elite howled in anger and pain as it turned towards Joe. It grabbed a plasma grenade from it's belt and threw it in Joe's direction. Joe quickly lunged forward as the grenade exploded, the shock wave caused Joe's teeth to shake.
This allowed for the marines to fire once more on the elite's and their shields failed as the weapon fire over took them. The elite's bodies dropped to the floor in a twisted mess and their blood covered the ground. Joe got back to his feet and proceeded to the marines.
"Alright, let's keep moving. It's only going to get harder for us at this point.", Joe stated.
They crept along for another mile before reaching the LZ, once there Joe radioed to base.
"Command this is Spartan 148, I have retrieved Charlie company and am awaiting pick up", Joe announced.
"Roger that Spartan, pelican 30 meters and closing hold tight", a voice stated.
Joe sighed as he looked at the marines, they were all exhausted from battle and were glad to be getting out of here. Joe couldn't celebrate with them.
"A leader must always maintain a calm head", Deja's voice rung in his head.
Joe merely sighed and watched the skies for their pelican.
